Retrospect
A bit of
yesterday fell today
Bared its teeth,
Showed promises
it has yet to keep.
A bit of
yesterday breathed down my spine.
Whispered words,
I used to
believe all the time.
A bit of
yesterday knocked on my door,
Clawed its way
in,
When I refused
to hear its lore.
A bit of
yesterday filled my thoughts
“Here have more”
Decided to live
there, ate up all my core.
Yesterday,
little by little,
Forgotten and
neglected.
Yesterday is but a memory, a torrential conscious regret.
